History
The project for an ECSAT Conference Centre began with the aim of providing both ESA and the greater Harwell Campus with a flexible solution.
The final design has resulted in a building which allows for conference of multiple sizes to take place, being able to adapt to all event requirements.
The construction of the ECSAT Conference Centre commenced in November 2021, and was inaugurated on 11 July 2023. It was opened as part of an event that showcased ESA’s growing footprint in the UK and the strong cooperation between the UK and the agency.
Providing a facility able to accommodate a number of different types of events, providing a 300 person conference hall, with state of the art audio visual equipment and interpreter facilities. In addition, the conference hall can be divided into 3 individual 100 person rooms for smaller meetings, with 2 additional 20 person meeting rooms on the second floor.
The conference Facility – named after former director of ESA’s telecommunications activities and head of ECSAT Magali Vaissiere – will help strengthen ESA’s ties with industry, partners and increase connections through various events. It will also act as a gateway for global events reinforcing the UK’s role in space, Europe and Worldwide.
